RAISE YOUR VOICE TO END VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN

52.8 people in urban India live in poverty. Poverty that often costs lives of the loved ones.

If they are allowed to work at all, marginalized women mostly work in undignified and stereotyped jobs that pay very little, such as domestic help.

Many women are denied making decision about their lives – 47% of girls in India are married before they turn 18. And almost 80% of women need to seek permission to visit even a health centre.

Violence against women is widespread. Nearly 1 in 3 married women in India experienced spousal violence.

Only $10 / Rs.500 pays for one woman to learn about her rights. $160 / Rs. 10,000 will enable a women to acquire driving skills to work with dignity as driver.

WE AT AZAD FOUNDATION, AN INDIAN NGO, GIVE WOMEN STRENGTH THROUGH OUR CHARITABLE EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMMES

We provide resource-poor women living in slum areas in Indian cities with capacity building to acquire professional driving skills and unlock their inner power. We help built their awareness on their rights.

We support them to earn livelihoods with dignity in professional driving. We enable them to empower themselves, reject violence in their lives, increase their mobility and stand on their own feet.
